Using a blog makes things a little more personal for a review compared to having a salesperson give you all the details about a product. A consumer may trust an experienced player or representative for the company with the review that isn't making a commission off of the sale like a salesperson. Plus you could add pictures or videos of the products in acutal use for the consumers to see.
